Missed Concert Regrets

When great musicians pass away, I can’t help but think about how I wish I would have seen them in concert. With the passing of Chris Cornell, I’m very disappointed I never took an opportunity to see him in any of his acts the past few years.

Some others I regret missing the opportunity to see-

Levon Helm- He was in Milwaukee at a casino a month before I turned 21 so I couldn’t go to the show. He passed away a few months later.

The Eagles- I’ve loved the Eagles all my life and for some reason never got around to seeing them before Glenn Frey passed away.

Whenever this happens I always find myself jumping online and finding who is coming near me that I should see. It’s kind of like my bucket list, but it’s actually their bucket I’m worried about.

What concerts are you disappointed you missed or who is on your before they kick the bucket list?

I had Beastie Boys tickets. They cancelled their tour when Adam Yauch was diagnosed with cancer.

:(

I was about to buy tickets when one of them broke an arm. They were going to be with Rage against the machine. Still bummed.

I had tickets to STP in August of 1994. I was then invited to a two week backpacking trip in Yellowstone National Park. I gave my tickets to my friends and they went and said it was a kick ass concert. I don’t regret the backpacking trip at all.

Summer of 2015 I got to see Paul McCartney and it was just mind blowing. 10/10 would do again.

I was fortunate enough to see Soundgarden two weeks ago at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.

I heard on the radio that The Eagles will be doing a tour with Glenn Frey’s son.

I was lucky enough to be in the 6th row at MSG for the TOTD tour last fall. Epic voice.

On the missed opportunities question... I had won tickets from a radio station to see the first Warped Tour back in ‘95 but couldn’t make it on a count of not being old enough to drive. Sublime was there.

Yeah, I actually just saw that as well when I googled to confirm if Glenn was spelled with one “n” or two.

Pink Floyd - I was never that huge of a fan, but they were known to put on phenomenal shows, and I always wanted to experience it.

I really loved Chris Cornell, I loved every project he did, I think my favorite was the song he did for Casino Royale. Soundgarden was on my concert bucket list, I have to solemnly cross it off...

All these comments has got me praying to every known deity that nothing happens to Damon Albarn before I see Gorillaz this October.
